young boys play chess, with onlookers

Chess is a very popular activity at the school. Formal learning in this area occurs in Years 2, 3 and 4 where Chess is a curriculum subject. Therefore, the Chess Club is the logical extension of this program and provides the means whereby children can enhance their skills and, at the same time, represent their school at Chess.

The Club meets twice a week and, in order to cater to the stages of development among the students, one group is for beginners and the other for the more advanced chess players.
