Learning from life...
A Prep education is not something confined to the classroom. We weave curricular and wider-curricular elements into a seamless learning structure that develops the student in his or her entirety. Because of this, Prepies are well-known for their exemplary social demeanour and robust self-confidence, as much as their academic achievements.
A range of school-supervised activities such as inter-school dances and visits to senior citizens' villages is designed to bring Prep students into contact with the wider community. The idea is to balance the strong school spirit with social responsibility and service, thereby nullifying any tendency toward a false sense of separatism or negative elitism.
Outdoor pursuits such as abseiling, canoeing, camping trips and sailing complement this by bolstering self-confidence and a capacity for team-work. Class camps are a well-established tradition and for Year 7 students there is access to Prep's own 12 hectare property near Toowoomba, for weekend camps and associated activities.
As always, an active awareness of safety and protection for students at all times is an absolute priority. No activity, camp or outing takes place without a high level of responsible supervision by teachers.
By providing a positive outlet for the boundless energies of children that also serves to further develop the individual, Prep's 'lessons beyond the classroom' reinforces the concept of a truly holistic education for every boy and girl.
Each person is a whole person.
Learning is for the whole person.
