Prep’s Upper School comprises Year 6 and 7 and offers and carefully balanced program designed to enable each boy and girl to develop as well-rounded individuals who can move with confidence to the next stage of life.

In the Upper School, there is emphasis upon subject teaching in preparation for secondary school. Students enjoy having different teachers for Mathematics, English, Studies of Society and the Environment as well as Science. Science is taught in our specially-designed science laboratory in the Bassingthwaite Centre.

There is a strong emphasis upon leadership in the Upper School. Students are given a wide variety of avenues to demonstrate responsibility and are trained in the ways in which to be effective leaders. They are rostered to lead assemblies as well as worship activities in the Chapel.

Involvement is a key word in the Upper School. This means that every student plays sport for the school at least once a week as well as taking an active part in the performing arts dimension to Prep. There is no doubt that the School Musical is one of the highlights for students in the Upper School.

Many opportunities are provided for students to compete in academic competitions and in selection for scholarships to some of Australia’s best known secondary schools. Learning support, too, is available for children who require extra attention in order to be well-equipped for studies at the next level.
